Karan Beef Excels at the 2012 Angelo Spar Potjiekos
The fifth annual Angelo Spar Potjiekos Competition was held on the 8th of September in Nigel and attracted 39 enthusiastic teams from the East Rand.
Karan Beef entered two teams with the “Heads and Tails” Theme. The Heads team from the Karan Beef Abattoir in Balfour prepared a unique pot consisting of Beef Cheek Meat which created a high level of interest from the judges. The Tails team from the Karan Beef Feedlot in Heidelberg went for a traditional Oxtail potjie which was superbly prepared by their Master Chef Hennie Otto and his team.
The judges were highly impressed with both offerings and awarded first prize to the Feedlot team for their outstanding all round presentation. The abattoir team received the Prestigious Spar Foodliner trophy for their unique offering.
