Event: Silver Spoon
Date: Friday 7th of August 2015
Location: Alex Theatre
Client: Karan Beef
Winner: Raisa Neluheni – 11 pax
The Alexander Theatre in Braamfontein first opened its doors in 1951 as a result of Muriel Alexander’s pursuit of a venue that the Johannesburg Repertory Players could call home. The theatre hosted a number of prominent plays and productions through the second half of the 20th century before closing its door in 1997 with a final performance of Ipi Ntombi. In 2006 the theatre was respectfully restored to its modernist roots under the guidance of property developer Adam Levy. The theatre reopened in 2007 with a production of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical RENT and garnered/generated great interest from wide variety of entertainment industries. The theatre is now a leading multi-dimensional event venue and hosts events including concerts, award ceremonies, talent shows, weddings and conferences.
On the evening of Friday, the 7th August 2015, the Rooftop of the Alex Theatre came to life when our winner, Raisa Neluheni and ten friends were treated to a wonderful evening thanks to Karan Beef. Chef Victor ensured that they weren’t disappointed and prepared a delicious meal of Karan Beef Oxtail followed by a mouth-watering Karan Beef Tenderloin.
