A desire to create artisan beer, a need to drink curious and smash boundaries, together with an intense love for the inner city, resulted in 3 beer enthusiasts coming together and SMACK! Republic Brewing Co. being born. The brewery is situated on the east side of the city at the Arts on Main building in Maboneng – one of the oldest buildings in Jozi. This urban setting, entrenched in history dating back more than a hundred years, provided a fitting backdrop for Jozi’s first microbrewery in the city and a night to remember for our winner, Marie O’Reilly and her guests. Frogs legs and Karan Beef made for a winning combination!

  • Chilli beef tacos with guacamole, jalapenos and sour cream
  • Asian style sticky beef short rib with crispy glass noodles
  • Home smoked beef fillet, on flame roasted sourdough bread topped with beetroot relish and micro greens
